Foster Dogs Available for Adoption
(Read info about adoption first. Applications not complete or not within guidelines will be rejected.)

Please note: We require a physical home visit before any application can be approved. Our volunteers primarily live in Minnesota and Wisconsin, so unless you're in our area, we may not be able to consider your application. Please do not submit an application if you live out of our area. We will not consider long distance adoptions and we will not ship dogs, no exceptions!

Before placement, our foster dogs are spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and vaccinated (if needed). Some are microchipped. They are on heartworm preventative during the season, May 1- Nov. 1. Our foster dogs go to their new homes with a Lifeline tote bag packed with: veterinary records, a binder with care information, a dog training DVD, a martingale collar and matching 6 foot lead, a tag collar with Lifeline ID tag, dog food, a coat (in cold weather), and a favorite crate pad or blanket. We also supply a crate/kennel, when needed.

New! Reduced Adoption Fees for Previous Lifeline Adopters!

Tigger

Tigger is a three-year-old boy, 16 inches tall, 12 lbs., and a beautiful seal pied (white with dark brown patches). He's a young dog dog who likes to play with other dogs, go for walks, run in a fenced yard and snuggle under a blanket.

Tigger's lived with kids and other dogs, but can be shy around men and prefers female dogs to male dogs. He's crate trained and reliably outdoor housetrained, seldom having accidents in his foster home. He'll be updated on any needed vaccinations, heartworm tested and have a dental cleaning, if needed.

Tigger is being fostered in the Rochester, MN area. Online Application.

Mona

Mona

Mona is a lovely little girl, around 9 lbs (could use another pound) and about 14 inches tall. She's seal with white markings.

Miss Mona offers the advantages of a 9 year old IG: she's reliably housetrained (both indoor and outdoor), enjoys nap time, and loves human and canine friends. However, she's also full of energy and loves to tear around her foster mom's huge, fenced yard. Mona has excellent housetraining skills.

We took Mona to our vet for a much-needed dental cleaning, and she had to have 12 teeth extracted. We'll try and maintain her teeth with consistent brushing.

Mona's an easy, low-maintenance dog who is one-half of a pair. Mona and Argos have lived together for 8 years and would like to be adopted together. They can be adopted for a combined adoption fee of $300. Adopters over 55 qualify for our Seniors for Seniors program and may adopt Argos & Mona together for $200.

Mona is being fostered in Eau Claire, WI. Online Application.

Argos

Argos is 8 years old, and a sweet, goofy kind of guy. He's seal with Irish markings, and a taller IG who - at over 20 lbs. - needs to slim down to around 18 lbs. Argos loves to play hard and sleep hard, too. His foster mom has a big, fenced backyard, and he takes advantage of all the room for running and playing. His housetraining has been excellent in foster care.

Argos is indoor/outdoor housetrained and crate trained. He's a friendly dog who has plenty of energy. Argos had a long-overdue dental cleaning, and he had to have 11 teeth extracted.

Argos has petit mal seizures, occasionally, and we're tracking them and will work with our vet to decide whether he needs to be on medication.

Argos is one-half of a pair that needs to be adopted together. Mona and Argos have lived together for 8 years and would like to be adopted together. They can be adopted for a combined adoption fee of $300. Adopters over 55 qualify for our Seniors for Seniors program and may adopt Argos & Mona together for $200.

Argos is being fostered in Eau Claire, WI. Online Application.

Lillian

Six-year-old Lillian recently lost her home due to a divorce and foreclosure. She's extremely overweight, but should begin to recover to 'girlish figure' while on a diet and exercise program in foster care. Just to be sure, we'll have a thyroid panel done while she's having her heartworm testing and dental cleaning performed.

Lillian is reliably outdoor housetrained and signals when she needs to go out. She loves food, though, and will readily get into garbage or steal food off a counter. She's good with kids, adults and other dogs, and - outside of her food obsession and barking at cats - is a well-mannered IG.

Lillian is being fostered in the Minneapolis area. Online Application.
